Redemption Church
Sundays at 10:00am
Our Story
In August 2012, the founding pastor of Redemption Church, Pastor Mark Rodriguez, and the elders of Redemption Church Northridge took a significant step. They gathered with a group of individuals to meet on Sunday nights, dedicating their time to prayerfully considering the idea of planting a church in the Sylmar area. After six months of faithful prayer, the Lord opened the door for worship services to begin on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at one of the Children’s Hunger Fund meeting spaces.

In 2015, the Lord continued to grow the church and allowed us to begin meeting at our current location on Glenoaks Blvd in Sylmar. We faithfully continue to preach the word, praise the Lord, and pray to Him while growing in the grace and knowledge of His truth.

In March 2020, COVID-19 impacted our congregation deeply in many ways, which caused us to lean upon the great and sovereign God we trust. Then, on November 1, 2020, our faithful God, by His everlasting grace, saw fit to take our dear brother, Pastor Mark Rodriguez, to his eternal home.
Both the congregation and the elders had an overwhelming desire to faithfully continue serving the community of Sylmar for the sake of the gospel, which we are effectively continuing to do even now.
We at Redemption Church are a diverse group of people who exist to "Make the Gospel Known" by Exalting the Lord, Equipping the Saints and Evangelizing the Lost.

our beliefs
As a local church, we seek to have our beliefs, our thinking and our living shaped by God’s objective truth as revealed in the Bible.
-
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, sufficient and authoritative for all matters of faith, life, and godliness.
-
We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
We believe Jesus Christ is fully man and fully God, lived a perfect life, died a substitutionary death on the cross for the sins of the world, was buried and after three days rose from the dead, conquering death, and is now seated at the right hand of God.
-
We believe all men are sinners, falling short of the glory of God, and are in need of salvation from sin and its consequences.
-
We believe that salvation is by God’s grace, mercy, and faith alone, through the preaching of the gospel, repentance, and the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit.
-
We believe every believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit and is able by His grace to walk in the newness of the Spirit by obeying Jesus and thus becoming more like Him.
-
We believe that salvation includes regeneration which produces increasing obedience and transformation into the image of Jesus.
-
We believe in the universal church whereby all true believers are united through faith in Jesus according to the truth of God’s Word.
-
We believe that at the end of the age Jesus Christ will return to this earth personally, visibly, physically, and suddenly in power and great glory to translate His Church from this earth and so the saints shall always be with the Lord.
-
We believe in the future resurrection of those who have died, the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to eternal punishment
